Academic Achievers: Even More Lexington Students Earn Diplomas, Honors

Marina Musicus of Lexington, has earned a degree in Prosthetics & Orthotics from the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta. Marina was among approximately 2,500 undergraduate and graduate students who received degrees during Georgia Tech's 242nd commencement exercises.

St. Mary's College of Maryland announces that Geoffrey Cooper of Lexington graduated cum laude with majors in public policy studies and sociology. Cooper also earned a minor in environmental studies.

Ohio Wesleyan University celebrated its 168th commencement ceremony May 13. Local residents graduating with the Class of 2012 included: Daniel Elkin of Lexington, who earned a Bachelor of Arts degree, and Virginia Willinger of Lexington, who earned a Bachelor of Arts degree.

The following area residents earned degrees from Clark University on Sunday, May 20. Dana B. Lee, of Lexington, graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in biology; Edward R. Hannigan, of Lexington graduated with a Master of Arts in community development and planning; Lisa M. Johnson, of Lexington, graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in English; Melissa L. Patnode, of Lexington, graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in English; Jenny C. Hunt, of Lexington, graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in psychology; Mackenzie M. Owades, of Lexington, graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in psychology; Caroline A. Rossi, of Lexington, graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in psychology, and Hadley S. Kyle, of Lexington, graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in sociology. Johnson is a member of the Phi Beta Kappa, and Gryphon and Pleiades honor societies. She is one of three graduating seniors who received a Virginia Mason Vaughan Prize from the Department of English.

Caroline Gildea of Lexington, has been named to the Dean's List for the spring 2012 semester at Salve Regina University. Gildea graduated in May.

Colby-Sawyer College has named John P. Clarke from Lexington to the Dean's List for academic achievement during the 2012 spring semester. To qualify for the Dean's List, students must achieve a grade-point average of 3.50 or higher on a 4.0 scale while carrying a minimum of 12 credit hours in graded courses. Clarke, a member of the class of 2013, is majoring in Media Studies.

Sacred Heart University, Fairfield, Conn., has announced the Dean's List for the spring semester 2012. To receive this honor, a student must achieve a 3.6 grade average, based on a 4.0 scale. Joseph Winn of Lexington has made the dean's list.

Stonehill College recently named Lexington resident Annemarie Rosa, a member of the class of 2014, to its Dean's List for the Spring 2012 semester.
