And Your Favorite Florist in Lexington Is...

The votes, comments and reviews have been tallied and Lexington Patch readers have picked their favorite florist in town.

It was a back and forth battle, but an 11th-hour surge pushed Primrose Floral past Cricket’s Corner to take top billing as Lexington’s favorite florist.

Primrose Floral tallied 54 of 112 votes in this week’s Best of Patch Readers’ Choice poll, looking for the best florist shop in Lexington. Cricket’s Corner was second, with 46 votes.

Both Primrose and Cricket’s picked up a few glowing reviews in the comment section, as well.

“I have used Primrose Floral for sending special occasion flowers, intimate dinner party centerpieces and floral design for large events of more than 250 people,” wrote a Patch user named Ann-Marie.  “Regardless of the occasion, Melissa [Stewart, the business owner] provides the same commitment to her craft and creativeness – her work has always surpassed my expectations.”

Creative was a word often used to describe Primrose in the six comments supporting the florist shop.

Cricket’s Corner picked up two comments, as well.

“My preferred florist in Lexington is Cricket’s Corner,” wrote Mary Ann Robinson. “They always have the best high end flowers which I prefer and Anne's designs are always beautiful - not your typical arrangements. I've always been extremely pleased and so haven't anyone I've sent flowers to.”

Other places receiving votes included Wilson Farm (6) Flowers at the Depot (4) and Wagon Wheel Farmstand Nursery (2).

You can review any of these other businesses yourself on the Patch Places page.

And check back Monday for next week’s poll, looking for the best place for Mothers’ Day brunch.
