End-of-the-Year Notes from Lexington's Town Clerk

Deadlines for voters, candidates and dog licenses are coming up. And so is the 2012 Town Census.

The following information was provided by Lexington Town Clerk Donna Hooper.

Town Census Info

In accordance with state statute, a town census is conducted annually to document all residents residing in each community of the commonwealth. The 2012 annual Town Census forms will soon be delivered to each household in Lexington.

Lexington residents are requested to update census information on each and every person living at their residence as of Jan. 1, 2012. Census data provides information for planning town and educational services provided to residents. It is important to compile an accurate census of residents.

The 2012 census mailing also includes an insert to collect data on children attending schools other than Lexington Public Schools.

Completed census forms and school enrollment forms (if applicable) should be returned to the Town Clerk’s Office, in the return envelope provided, as quickly as possible.

Questions regarding completion and return of the annual census, or voter registration and election information, may be directed to the Town Clerk’s Office by phone at 781-862-0500 x270.

Get Out the Vote

Voter registration deadline for the Jan. 24 special election/debt exclusion vote—with questions on renovations to the Bridge and Bowman elementary schools and rebuilding Estabrook Elementary—is next Wednesday. Registrations must be postmarked or received at the Town Clerk’s Office no later than 8 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 4.
