LFD Incidents: A Transformer Fire, Arcing Wires and a Water Tank Burst

The following information from Aug. 7 to Aug. 14 was provided by the Lexington Fire Department.

Fire Incident Reports

Thursday, Aug. 9

6:33 p.m. – Firefighters responded to a reported transformer fire on Somerset Road. Units cleared after NStar responded to the scene to handle.

Friday, Aug. 10

7:34 p.m. – Firefighters responded to a report of arcing on Buckman Drive and found two high-volatage wires arcing and burning against a tree trunk. The responding company advised nearby homeowners and remained on scene until Nstar’s arrival.

Sunday, Aug. 12

12:32 p.m. – An Essex Street resident reported a water tank burst.
