The National Weather Service has issued a frost advisory for much of Massachusetts, including Lexington, in anticipation of cold temperatures Thursday night into Friday morning.
According to the NWS, tonight's forecast is for a clear night with lows around 30. These cold temperatures pose a threat to vegetation and can damage crops and potted plants normally left outdoors, the service said.
"A frost advisory is issued when frost is expected to develop during the growing season," said the frost advisory. "Those with agricultural interests are advised to harvest or protect tender vegetation. Also, potted plants normally left outdoors should be covered or brought inside away from the cold."

Thank you, Patrick. Time to take the herbs off the deck.
