2. 7th Annual Artisans Market and Summer Sale
Where/When: Lexington Arts and Crafts Society, 130 Waltham St, Lexington; 10 to 4 p.m., Friday, Aug. 19 and Saturday, Aug. 20
Why Go: Last day to view and purchase original arts and crafts created by over 50 artists from the Society's 10 guilds.
Pricing: Free to look. Pieces for purchase vary in price.
3. Corn and Tomato Festival
Where/When: Verrill Farm, 11 Wheeler Rd # A, Concord; 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 20
Why Go: This annual festival invites folks to taste more than 30 varieties of Verrill's own tomatoes and as many as eight different kinds of corn. The farm stand kitchen will create sample dishes highlighting corn and tomatoes as featured ingredients. Pricing: $8.50 for adults. $4.50 for kids under 10.
4. Lexington's Historic Houses Open
Where/When: Buckman Tavern, 1 Bedford St., the Hancock-Clarke House, 36 Hancock St. and Munroe Tavern, 1332 Massachusetts Ave.; 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Daily through October
Why Go: The Lexington Historical Society's three historic house museums are open to the public for guided tours through October.

5. Leanne Lasofsky and "My Life"

Why Go: Listen to author Leanne Lafosky discusses the how the physical limitations of Cerebral Palsy have impacted her and shares stories of the many highlights of her life.
