Why Go: Come see some of your favorite Dr. Seuss characters, including Horton the Elephant, The Cat in the Hat, Gertrude McFuzz, lazy Mayzie and a little boy with a big imagination—Jojo—in Lynn Ahren’s and Stephen Flaherty’s Seussical, Jr. Under the direction of Alyson Brown, Clarke Middle School students will bring us into the magical world of the Jungle of Nool and to the Circus McGurkus.

2. Lexington Historical Society's Cronin Lecture Series

3. The 88-Key Orchestra: Solo Piano Improvisations on Traditional American & Celtic Music
Where/When: Follen Church, 755 Massachusetts Avenue, Lexington; 7 p.m., Saturdy, Feb. 4
Why Go: Local pianists Eric-Eid Reiner and Jacqueline Schwab perform traditional American and Celtic solo piano arrangements at Follen Church.
Pricing: Admission at the door -- $15 for adults and $10 for children, students, and seniors.

4. Lexington Symphony presents Haydn’s Symphony No. 43 “Mercury” and the Nielsen Clarinet Concerto
Where/When: Cary Hall 1605 Massachusetts, Ave.; 8 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 4
Why Go: Lexingon Symphony's first concert of the new year features its principal clarinet, William Kirkley as it presents Haydn’s Symphony No. 43 “Mercury” and the Nielsen Clarinet Concerto.
Pricing: Individual ticket prices are $50, $40, $30, $20 (student). Will-call tickets must be picked up at least 15 minutes prior to concert.

5. LexFarm Goat Yard Visiting Hours
Where/When: 52 Lowell St, Lexington; 1 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 5
Why Go: Visit a very pregnant Ionia and all of the kids. And feel free to bring fresh eastern white pine branches for the goats to munch.
