Why Go: It's the latest installment of Lexington Chamber of Commerce's annual Summer Concert Series, which provides weekly outdoors concerts on the Lexington Visitors Center lawn Friday nights through Aug. 31.

2. LYST Presents "The Wizard of Oz"

Why Go: More than 30 area youth, ages 7 to 17, star in Lexington Youth Summer Theatre's production of "The Wizard of Oz." According to the director, the LYST take on this classic will be a little cartoonish, just like Dorothy's imagination.

3. Breakfast at the Carlisle Farmer's Market

Why Go: At this breakfast there will be numerous sweet and savory baked goods, as well as hot/iced coffee and juice, plus the usual assortment of fresh picked, locally grown produce and many creatively designed hand made crafts.

4. Threads of Brotherhood: Masonic Quilts and Textiles Gallery Talk
Where/When: National Heritage Museum, 33 Marrett Road; 2 p.m., Saturday, July 28
Why Go: This exhibit, along with Director of Collections Aimee Newell, provides a look at the contribution women’s textiles made to Freemasonry’s vibrant shaping of American families and communities in the 1800s and the 1900s.

5. 8th Annual Summer Artisans Market
Where/When: Lexington Arts and Crafts Society, 130 Waltham St; 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, July 28 and 12 to 4 p.m., Sunday, July 29
Why Go: For all of the original arts and crafts created by over 40 artists from our Guilds: Ceramics, Painters, Polymer-Clay and Beaders, Needle Arts, Decorative Arts, Photography, Woodworkers, and Metalworkers Guilds.
