1. It's Patriots' Day. So, if you're reading this, then chances are you missed "The Alarm" at the Old Belfry, reading of the script and the Reenactment of the Battle of Lexington at the Battle Green, which all begin between 5:30 and 6 a.m. But worry not, there's plenty more throughout the day. So read on.

2. Like pancakes? You're in luck. St. Brigid Church, First Baptist Church of Lexington and Church of Our Redeemer are all hosting pancake breakfasts from 6 to 10 a.m. 

3. So, it's a state holiday. You may be wondering what's open and what's closed. Short version is that state offices -- and that includes municipal -- are closed, but federal offices are open, which means you'll still get your mail. For more info, check here.

4. In Lexington, Patriots' Day is an all-day event. Following a lunch, from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at First Parish, is an afternoon parade. Float judging begins at 12:30 p.m. on Mass Ave in East Lexington; Paul Revere arrives at the Battle Green at 1 p.m.; the parade steps off at 2 p.m. in East Lexington and arrives at Battle Green about 2:45 p.m., according to the schedule.

5. Flags will flap fiercely, according to the National Weather Service, which predicts Monday highs of 58 with 16 mph winds and gusts as strong as 29 mph.
