Five Things: Youth Commission's Book Drive for Cotting School

A quick look at what you need to see, do and know on March 19 in Lexington.

 

1. Lexington Youth Commission Book Drive for Cotting School: The Youth Commission's collections boxes are set up for collecting new and used books, recipe books, textbooks, childrens books, fiction, non-fiction, poetry, any/or any type of hard or soft covers for The Cotting School in Lexington. The bins will be set up at Arlex Oil Corp, 275 Mass Ave, a Five Forks Sunoco, corner of Marrett Road and Lincoln Street, and Ace Hardware at the corner of Woburn and Maple Streets.

2. Today in Public Meetings: According to the town website, public meetings posted for today include Sustainable Lexington at 6:30 p.m. at the Town Office Building and the Hanscom Field Advisory Committee at 7 p.m., also at the Town Office Building.

3. Suggest Items for the Lexington Time Capsule: As part of Lexington’s 300th Anniversary Celebration, 5--year Lexington resident Stan Abkowitz has donated a titanium time capsule to be buried to be reopened in 2063, at the town’s 350th Anniversary. Lexington residents are invited to consider what they'd like to include.

5. Rain, Sleet and Snow: All kinds of precipitation in the forecast for today, with a high of 38 and total snow/sleet accumulation of about 2 to 4 inches, according to the National Weather Service, which predicts more of the same overnight with a low of 26.
