It was interesting to learn how to keep count and predict the likelihood of the next card being low or high.

Deborah and Henry present their stories. Henry was part of the team for about a year, Deborah for about 6 years.

Four Lexington couples bid generously at last February's LEF Gala to enjoy an evening of blackjack with several friends as guests - learning directly from the pros: Deborah Lapides and Henry Houh.

Both were members of the infamous blackjack card-counting team of Boston students about which the movie "21" was written. Henry was cast in the movie as a chinatown dealer and insists he had the best line: "Winner, winner, chicken dinner!"

Their joint presentation this weekend was both fascinating and entertaining, covering the complexities of the strategy, interesting occurances and funny anecdotes.

Equipped with cheat sheets and wallet sized cards, guests then moved to two tables to learn first hand, where it was immediately obvious that most of us should never attempt to play to 'gain' money.

Deborah and Henry have donated this wonderful and insightful evening many times to auction on behalf of Lexington's Education Foundation.
