Haunt Local: Trick-or-Treat with Lexington Businesses

For the 10th time, the Lexington Retailers Association hosts Halloween Trick or Treat with your Local Businesses.

Before they trick-or-treat their way around residential neighborhoods this Halloween, Lexington’s little monsters can mash with local merchants.

The Lexington Retailers Association is holding its 10thh annual Halloween Trick or Treat with your Local Businesses from 2 to 5 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 31.

White, orange and black balloon bouquets will hang outside the doors of more than 90 businesses throughout the town offing kids a chance to start their candy cache and parents an opportunity to learn more about local merchants.

“It is a day of the businesses giving back to the community and when we started it 10 years ago, that’s what it was about," said Jerry Michelson of the Retailers Association. “That’s what it’s been about and it’s been fun.”

Also this year, parents can help choose which stores have the most Halloween spirit and benefit the Lexington Food Pantry.

As part of the Retailer's Association's "You be the Judge," parents can stop by a designated drop-off location and donate to the Food Pantry in exchange for a ballot on which they can vote for the best businesses in the following categories: "funniest costume," "best theme," "best interior decorations," best window/outside decoration" and "spookiest costume."

Drop off locations include: Thomas G. Braun DDS, Brookline Bank, Cambridge Savings Bank, Cambridge Trust Company, Candy Castle, Cary Memorial Library, Crafty Yankee, Daikanyama Japanese Cuisine, Paul DiMattia DDS, Eagle Bank, Elephant's Trunk, Levine Orthodontics, Lex Communicate, Lexington Chamber of Commerce, Liatris Hair Design, Maria C.
