Lexington Moms, There’s a New Show for You

New LexMedia program "THIS MOM NEEDS HELP!" will offer “quick, easy help to busy moms so they get ‘Get Good’ and ‘Feel Great.’”

With her new show “THIS MOM NEEDS HELP,” Lexington resident Raquel Leder is looking to lend a hand to busy moms like her.

“A lot of moms feel overwhelmed, and this show is going to give tips to moms in a quick and focused way so they really can get better at what they’re doing,” said Leder, whose show debuted last night on LexMedia.

Leder, who will produce and appear in the show—which debuted last night and will air at 9 p.m. on Thursdays in March, with rebroadcasts Tuesdays on LexMedia—said topics will include parenting, relationships, home maintenance, fitness and style.

Leader said the idea for her show began developing a couple of years ago when she was doing some camera work for Lexmedia and, while looking through the lens, realized there was a need for a show about moms.

For the first season, each episode will feature Leder, cast as the mom who needs help, receiving advice from local experts.

“Every show has a mom who needs help and someone who is really experienced giving the help,” said Leder. “It’s funny, it’s informational, it’s quick. Every segment is focused on giving moms a quick-hitting tip to ‘Get Good’ at what you’re doing.”

The show “THIS MOM NEEDS HELP!” premiered at 9 p.m. last night, Thrusday, March 7. It will appear every Thursday (with rebroadcasts on Tuesdays) at 9 p.m. on Comcast channel 8, RCN channel3 and Verizon channel 35. Segments will also appear on the show’s website, www.ThisMomNeedsHelp.com.

Yesterday’s premiere episode featured guest Elizabeth Goodsell from That’s Neat Organizing, who shared some tips on – you guessed it – how to get organized.

Future episodes will feature fashion tips from local sylistas and health advice from local fitness professionals.

While Leder will be the Mom Who Needs Help in the first season, she hopes to help and feature other mothers in future seasons, and to use her website to create a community where local mothers can help each other and exchange ideas.

Leder said she’ll be taking suggestions and getting started on the second season over the spring and summer, with a target of airing around the start of the 2013-2014 school year in the early fall.
