Lexington's 300th: LexCelebrate! Incorporation Weekend Has Arrived

A look at the final schedule, a quick preview of events and a note about where you can turn for coverage.

The celebration, some 300 years in the making, enters full swing today.

A main attraction of Lexington's nine-month 300th birthday bash, the LexCelebrate! Incorporation Weekend is upon us, and promises to offer "something for everyone."

The 300th Celebration Committee published its final program for the weekend recently, and you can view that by clicking on the PDF to your right.

School will be cool (as if it wasn't already...) this weekend as the LexCelebrate! festivities take over Lexington High. There will be panels and talks, arts and dance demos, a Lexington authors series and sports and recreation on Saturday. Come Sunday, there'll be more of the same, with a "Dance Around the World" event in between.

LexCelebrate! will be free free thanks to Patriot Presenter, a family whose anonymous -- and super generous -- $25,000 gift has allowed the event to be free to the public.

Lexington Patch will be heading over to LHS both Saturday and Sunday, so be sure to check back here over the weekend and into Monday for pictures, words and videos from the events.
