Lexington's 300th: Some Shots of Locals Racing Through Time

Families and friends participated in the "Race Through Time" competition as part of the Lexington 300th opening day festivities.

A competitive race based on the TV show "The Amazing Race on CBS," the Race Through Time went off on Saturday, Sept. 22 as part of the Lexington 300th opening day ceremonies and Country Fair.

The teams set out from Hastings Park, just outside the fair, and had three hours to find the nine "challenge stations" around town and complete the task presented by the challenge station masters, which included Battle Green guides and members of the Lexington Police Department, among others.

The race was sponsored by the Lexington-based Collective Brands Performance + Lifestyle Group (Sperry Top-Sider, Saucony, Keds, and Striderite). Lots of prizes to go around, including $1500, $1000, and $500 cash prizes in the form of Chamber of Commerce Gift Certificates for the top three teams.
