The Evergreen Group ushered in 2012, the Year of the Dragon, on Saturday, Feb. 4 with a Chinese New Year Celebration at Keilty Hall in St. Brigid’s

Also known as the Chinese Senior Support group, the Evergreen Group is a collection of Asian seniors that meets bi-monthly at the Lexington Senior Center. Its annual Chinese New Year celebrations feature a full program of entertainment, including Chinese Opera, ballroom dancing, tai chi demonstrations and vocal groups, according to Charlotte Rodgers, Lexington’s director of Human Services

A crowd of more than 100 turned out for this year’s celebration, which featured a welcome from the town by Rodgers and Selectman George Burnell.
