Police Chief Mark Corr spoke about the history of the Rycroft Award. He shared with award recipients, parents, other athletes present and Lions in attendance the importance of athletics in the lives of all young people and the need to strive to do your very best. The Rycroft Award recipients were introduced by Bob McConnell, and the awards were presented by Tim Lima, grandson of Former Police Chief Rycroft, to Jeffrey Costello – Outstanding Major League Player, and to Sal Frelick – Outstanding Minor League Player. Both were applauded for their commitment and dedication to baseball – always practicing, both before and after games.

The Dailey Award recipients were introduced by Bob McConnell and were presented by Mr. Dailey to: Amanda Charlton from the Senior Softball League, and Natalie Keagul from the Major Softball League. They were both commended for their team spirit and hard work and practice to always improve.
The evening continued with some thoughts from Lexington Public Schools Athletic Director Naomi Martin, and other sports teams' coaches.

Our MC Doug then introduced the guest speaker, Tom O'Grady, Lexington's Varsity Baseball Coach, who spoke about what sports has meant to him in his life, and he shared some advice to the young people in attendance to strive to do their very best.
