Last Tuesday, Ray Ciccolo, the president and CEO of Village Automotive Group, left Massachusetts for Ecuador as part of a humanitarian mission for the Global Smile Foundation.

Ciccolo -- a Lexington native who was recently nominated for the 2013 TIME Dealer of the Year award -- is accompanying Dr. Usama Hamdan, who will perform cleft procedures on children born with cleft lips and palates, a condition that that affects the upper lip and the roof of the mouth, and can lead to problems with feeding and speech.

Ciccolo and Hamden will return from Ecuador today, March 10.
