PHOTOS: Minuteman Team Takes Third in Cooking Competition
Serving pan-seared gyoza, Tuscan chicken and petit chocolate cakes with berries and cream, a team from Minuteman High School placed third in the Massachusetts ProStart Student Invitational's cooking competition last week.

Serving pan-seared gyoza, Tuscan chicken and petit chocolate cakes with berries and cream, a team from placed third in the Massachusetts ProStart Student Invitational’s cooking competition last week.
According to a press release, the Minuteman Team was competing at the Massachusetts Restaurant Association Educational Foundation’s fifth annual student invitational – a high school culinary and restaurant management competition designed to showcase the talent of the region’s future chefs and restaurateurs. Placing teams left the event with scholarship awards totaling more than $60,000.

The Minuteman team was made up of students Megan Morelus, Will Smith, Lisa Wilms, Charlie McSweetney and Morgan White, along with teachers Joe Pitta, Martin McElhinney and Dan Charbonneau.

Starter -- Traditional pan-seared gyoza with ground pork, assorted vegetables and a soy ginger dipping sauce
Entrée -- Tuscan chicken pan fried and served over risotto and julienne vegetables with a rustic Tuscan sauce
Dessert -- Petit chocolate cakes with fresh berries and whipped cream
