The man who allegedly passed a note to a teller and robbed the People’s United Bank on Bedford Street on Monday has made the Mass Most Wanted list.

Described as a clean-shaven white male in his early- to mid-20s, who stands about 6’ tall and wore a blue baseball hat, glasses and a gray NorthFace, the man allegedly presented a note demanding money and made off with an undisclosed amount of money late Monday morning. 

The robbery occurred about shortly after 11 a.m. on Nov. 14, according to police, who said suspect entered the bank alone and did not show a weapon. At the time of the theft, there were others in the bank, but they did not necessarily realize what was going on, police told Patch earlier this week.

Sharing surveillance footage with other agencies and the public, via Mass Most Wanted and other avenues is a normal course of action at this stage in investigation, according to Lt. Det. Michael McLean of the Lexington Police Department.

As investigators await results of the processing of fingerprints and other forensic evidence collected at the scene, McLean said they are casting a wider net in hopes that someone or some agency will recognize the suspect or his modus operandi.

In addition to LPD investigators, a K9 unit from Arlington and representatives from an FBI-Mass State Police bank robbery task force also responded to the scene late Monday morning and investigators remained at the scene well into the afternoon.

This People’s United branch is relatively new to town and is located at 46A Bedford Street, right across from the Lexington Fire Department headquarters.
