A Lexington man died early Friday morning following his involvement in a motor vehicle accident at Winchester Drive, near the Winchester line, Thursday evening, police said.

According to the incident report, at 6:59 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 2, Lexington Police responded to the intersection of Winchester Drive and Russell Road for reports of a motorcycle vs. motor vehicle accident.

The motorcyclist was transported by Winchester Fire Department to Mass General Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries, police said. The man’s name and information are being withheld pending proper notification, police said.

The motorcycle was a Harley Davidson and the vehicle was a sedan, police said. The accident remains under investigation.
