Police Log: A Bicycle in a Tree and Alleged Threats from an Employee Fired by Phone

The following information was provided by the Lexington Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

 

Monday, Sept. 10

12:37 a.m. – Suspicious persons were reported on Bedford Street.

11:12 a.m. – A breaking and entering to a construction trailer was reported on Waltham Street.

11:48 a.m. – Police are investigating a possible wire fraud involving a Grove Street resident.

4:37 p.m. – Police responded to a reported motor vehicle accident on Waltham Street.

6:46 p.m. – An attempted breaking-and-entering was reported on Milk Street.

7:59 p.m. – Police responded to a reported mother-son domestic on Butler Avenue. Yanan Tang, 23, of 10 Butler Ave., Lexington was arrested and charged with domestic assault and battery.

Tuesday, Sept. 11

10:44 a.m. – A wallet was reportedly stolen from an unmarked vehicle on Reed Street.

12:26 p.m. – A Douglas House resident was reported missing. He was found about an hour later in Lexington Center.

12:55 p.m. – Police responded to a report of a man videotaping people at Fiske Elementary School on Adams Street. Turns out, it was Channel 7 there reporting on a story.

3:34 p.m. – An April Lane resident reported that, sometime overnight, the driver’s side window was smashed by an unknown object. There was no apparent entry to the vehicle and nothing reported missing, the police report said.

3:47 p.m. – Police responded to a reported hit-and-run accident on Mass Ave.

4:48 p.m. – An East Emerson Road reported her son was missing. When officers responded to her home, there was no one there. A short time later, the woman called to report she had found her son.

Wednesday, Sept. 12

8:29 a.m. – A parking complaint came in regarding trucks parked on both sides of the road in the area of Castle and Franklin roads.

9:45 a.m. – Police responded to a report of debris in the roadway on Bedford Street.

9:51 a.m. – Officers investigated a reported motor vehicle accident in the area of Mass Ave and Maple Street.

11:29 a.m. – A resident came into the station to report she thought she received two fraudulent money orders as payment for items she was selling on Craig’s List. When she attempted to deposit, the bank told her they were fraudulent.

2:10 p.m. – Officers investigated a reported motor vehicle accident on Mass Ave.

2:46 p.m. – A Bedford Street business manager reported that, while he was firing an employee over the phone, the former employee made some threatening remarks.

Thursday, Sept. 13

1:24 a.m. – A noise complaint came in from the area of Main Campus Drive.

9:21 a.m. – A Louis Vitton purse was reportedly lost in the area of Simonds and Blake roads.

4:11 p.m. – A caller reported some youths threw a bike into a tree on Mass Ave. Police checked the area and were unable to locate the bike.

8:01 p.m. – Police executed a warrant arrest on Judges Road. Cynthia G. Bates, 49, of 16 Judges Road, Lexington, was arrested and on a warrant for operating on a suspended license.

It's never a good idea to fire someone over the phone. Just unprofessional.
