Police Log: A Bobcat Missing, Investigations and an OUI Arrest

The following information was provided by the Lexington Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

 

Monday, Oct. 15

7:25 a.m. – A truck reportedly pulled down a wire in the area of Davis Road.

8:01 a.m. – Sometime between the previous Friday afternoon and the morning of Monday, Oct. 15, a Bobcat with sweeper attachment, valued at more than $23,000, was reportedly stolen from a construction site on East Street.

8:38 a.m. – Police responded to an alleged burglary at a Watertown Street nursing home, where several office doors were reportedly forced open. Several hundred dollars in cash, and possibly some jewelry, were reported missing and detectives were called to the scene.

2:03 p.m. – A hit-and-run accident with property damage was reported on Grove Street.

8:30 p.m. – A motor vehicle stop on Westview Street resulted in a summons of the operator for driving with an expired registration.

Tuesday, Oct. 16

8:12 a.m. – A two-car motor vehicle accident was reported in the area of Route 2 and Waltham Street.

9:13 a.m. – An Appletree Lane resident reported an incidence of fraud that occurred outside Lexington.

11:52 a.m. – Campaign signs were reportedly stolen from the area of Lowell Street and Thoreau Road.

6:57 p.m. – Police carried out cruiser check regarding a moving truck in the area of Patriots Drive. 

Wednesday, Oct. 17

12:36 a.m. – A report of lost credit cards came in from Greeley Village.

12:25 p.m. – A three-car motor vehicle accident was reported on Mass Ave

6:46 p.m. – Police conducted an investigation on Bedford Street.

Thursday, Oct. 18

10:25 a.m. – Police responded to a report of a past breaking-and-entering to a motor vehicle on School Street.

1:06 p.m. – A larceny was reported on Pelham Road.

2:26 p.m. – Police responded to a report of a low-hanging wire in the area of Baker Avenue and Oak Street.

3:03 p.m. – Police responded to a report of a child locked in a motor vehicle on Pleasant Street.

6:48 p.m. – A report of a customer dispute came in from Mass Ave.

7:52 p.m. – A suspicious person was reported in the area of Baskin Road.

9:39 p.m. – As a result of a motor vehicle stop following a report of an erratic operator in the area of Lowell and Maple streets, Priya Sapra, 35, of 7 Wainwright Road, Winchester, was arrested and charged with operating under the influence of liquor. The initial call came in from Waltham Police, reporting a possible operator under the influence had struck a pole in their town. Debris from the utility pole was found near the front right tire of Sapra’s vehicle, the police report said.
