Police Log: A Sick Fox, Accidents and a $9 Bottle of Red Wine

The following information was provided by the Lexington Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

 

Friday, Aug. 17

11:47 a.m. – Police were notified of a yellow light out at Mass Ave and Waltham Street.

12:18 p.m. – A possibly sick fox was reported on Flintlock Road.

4:51 p.m. – A bicycle was reportedly stolen from Main Campus Drive.

8:46 p.m. – Police responded to Concord Avenue for a possible domestic.

9:55 p.m. – A noise complaint came in reporting youths yelling in the woods off Summer Street.

10:56 p.m. – Officers investigated a reported motor vehicle accident in the area of Adams Street and Emerson Road.

11:56 p.m. – A call came in reporting a loud house party on Rolfe Road.

Saturday, Aug. 18

8:10 a.m. – A car fire was reported on Marrett Road.

8:54 a.m. – Emergency response personnel responded to a report of a bicyclist down in the area of Mass Ave and Grant Street.

1:42 p.m. – Police and fire personnel responded to a report of smoke in a building on Lowell Street.

5:29 p.m. – A pedestrian was struck by a motor vehicle while crossing Marrett Road by the Old Res in front of an MBTA bus and a Bedford man was arrested for failure to use care. Kenneth A. Mills, Jr., 45, of 282 South Road, Bedford, was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle after his license was suspended and failure to use care in passing. Mills reportedly struck a pedestrian who attempted to cross in front of an MBTA bus in the area of Marrett and Tufts roads.

7:24 p.m. – A noise compliant came in from Hazel Road.

Sunday, Aug. 19

12:30 a.m. – As a result of a motor vehicle stop on Marrett Road, Drew Matthew Pierce, 45, of 96 Old Bedford Road, Concord, was arrested and charged with operating under the influence of liquor, marked lanes violation and open container violation. According to the incident report, police pulled over Pierce’s vehicle for doing about 20 in traffic zone with a limit of 35 miles per hour and weaving across the traffic line, and then found inside the vehicle a spilled red substance and a nearly empty $9 bottle of red wine.

11:22 a.m. – A resident of Mill Brook. Rock reported a rock was thrown at the trunk of his car sometime over night. Police reportedly found a baseball sized rock found near the damaged vehicle.

5:47 p.m. – A dog was reportedly running in traffic on Mass Ave.
