Police Log: A Statue Assaulted and Allegations of Lewd Behavior on the Bikeway

Monday, Aug. 20
7:23 a.m. – The front windows of two pieces of heavy equipment left in the field on Worthen Road were reportedly broken.
1:25 p.m. – A Tarbell Road resident reported air was let out the tires of a car the previous day.
1:41 p.m. – A mailbox was reportedly damaged on Paul Revere road.
6:57 p.m. – Police responded to a report of a female being threatened by a male on Bedford Street. The investigation is ongoing.
Tuesday, Aug. 21
8:09 a.m. – Glass on the front door of a business on Camelia Place was reportedly broken.
9:27 a.m. – Officers responded to a reported breaking-and-entering to a vehicle overnight on Nickerson Road.
9:36 a.m. – A rope swing was reported missing from Sherburne Road.
2:59 p.m. – A hit-and-run accident was reported in a municipal lot.
5:27 p.m. – A cell phone was reportedly lost in the area of Meriam Street.
7:58 p.m. – Police responded to a report of a man possibly masturbating on the bike path in East Lexington. The man, allegedly wearing a tan shirt and brown shorts, was gone on arrival, according to the incident report.
9:15 p.m. – Police responded to a report of a loud party in the woods on Summer Street.
Wednesday, Aug. 22
8:49 a.m. – Employees from the National Heritage Museum reported their minute man statue was pushed off of its base, with a piece broken off. The investigation is ongoing.
10:30 a.m. – A Captain Parker Arms resident reported a racial slur was written on the door of their vehicle.
10:58 a.m. – A woman reported missing from Concord Avenue was found visiting a neighbor.
4:25 p.m. – Officers investigated a reported motor vehicle accident in the area of Bedford Street and Hartwell Avenue.
4:44 p.m. – Police responded to Plymouth Road for a reported domestic. David N. Perelman, 23, of 144B Robbins St., Waltham, was arrested and charged with assault and battery.
5:03 p.m. – Officers investigated a reported motor vehicle accident on Wood Street.
9:57 p.m. – Police responded to a reported attempted burglary on Cloumbus Street.
Thursday, Aug. 23
11:01 a.m. – As a result of an investigation into an alleged chimney cleaning scam on Farmcrest Avenue, James F. McLaughlin, 25, of 24 Knight St., Woonsocket, RI, was arrested on multiple warrants and charged with possession with a Class B substance (Uxbridge), operating with a suspended license (Falmouth) and operating under the influence and with a suspended license (Uxbridge). The investigation is ongoing.
6:03 p.m. – Police responded to a report of broken front windows on Potter Pond. 9:40 p.m. – Police responded to a reported domestic dispute on Mass Ave.
10:09 p.m. – As a result of a motor vehicle stop in the area of Adams and East streets, Veronica Mier Briceno, 37, of 9 Ellis Court, Woburn, was arrested on a warrant out of Woburn and charged with operating a motor vehicle without a license, failure to signal before stopping and turning.
Friday, Aug. 24
9:27 a.m. – A motor vehicle accident involving a police car was reported in Lot-3.
11:43 a.m. – A bicycle was reported stolen from Main Campus Drive.
12:31 p.m. – A neighbor dispute over real estate was reported on Robinson Road.
1:14 p.m. – Police responded to Fessenden Way for a reported domestic. Rudrapatna V. Ramnath, 74, of 12 Fessenden Way, Lexington, was arrested and charged with domestic assault and battery.
3:10 p.m. – A suspicious person was reported on Bedford Street.
10:02 p.m. – A green wallet and key were reportedly found on Muzzey Street.
Saturday, Aug. 25
2:23 a.m. – Suspicious youths were reported in the area of Bicentennial Drive.
2:53 a.m. – A noise complaint came in from Holmes Road.
10:31 a.m. – Police responded to a report of a motor vehicle accident involving a person on a bicycle in the area of Bedford and Hill streets.
6:46 p.m. – A suspicious motor vehicle was reported in the area of Sargent and Shirley streets.
8:50 p.m. – A hit-and-run accident was reported on Bedford Street.
Sunday, Aug. 26
3:42 a.m. – As a result of a motor vehicle stop on Marrett Road, Kenneth William Garfield, 21, of 346 Concord Ave., Lexington, was arrested and charged with operating after his license was suspended.
10:05 a.m. – Animal control was notified about a dog that had been barking for three hours in the area of Hamilton Road and Ledgelawn Avenue.
12:25 p.m. – A Waltham Street resident returned home from vacation and found a double-paned widow to his garage had been broken. There was no apparent entry gained, just a broken window.
4:48 p.m. – A Lowell Street resident reported his mailbox had been damaged sometime after midnight.
6:35 p.m. – A noise complaint came in regarding loud music on Gleason Road.
10:48 p.m. – A cruiser checked out a report of a man yelling on Mass Ave.
