Police Log: Allegations of Fraud and Painting the Town Grey

The following information from June 29 to July 1 was provided by the Lexington Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

 

Friday, June 29

10:27 a.m. – Police checked out a report of suspicious motor vehicles in the area of Cranberry Hill Road.

12:30 p.m. – Police responded to Lowell Street for a reported larceny.

1:42 p.m. – A Warren Street resident came into the station to report her bank statement contained a charge from April that she did not authorize. The woman was advised to notify the credit card company, and the matter is under investigation.

2:43 p.m. – A Roosevelt Road resident reported that someone opened a credit card in her name in another state.The resident was advised to contact her credit card company, and the matter is under investigation.

3:20 p.m. – Police responded to a reported domestic dispute on Hayden Avenue.

7:31 p.m. – Suspicious activity was reported on Bedford Street.

Saturday, June 30

12:09 a.m. – Animal control was notified of a barking dog on Pleasant Street.

12:44 a.m. – A noise complaint came in from Lincoln Street.

11:39 a.m. – Police responded to Maple Street for a report of a general dispute.

9:47 p.m. – A Milk Street resident reported eggs thrown at the house.

10:50 p.m. – Officers investigated a reported motor vehicle accident in the area of Mass Ave and Meriam Street.

Sunday, July 1

2:06 a.m. – Officers investigated a reported motor vehicle accident on Main Campus Drive.

7:12 a.m. – Police responded to Grassland Street for reports of several incidents in which property was spray-painted at various addresses, including two license plates, a mailbox, a vehicle's side-view mirror, a road sign, fire hydrant and a vehicle’s rear, which was painted with an epithet. All of the vandlism was grey, except for the fire hydrant, which was orange.

4:36 p.m. – A bicycle was reportedly stolen from the area of Edison Way and Depot Square.

4:59 p.m. – As a result of a motor vehicle stop on Hartwell Avenue, Robert J. Landry, 51, of 64 Neillian Way, Bedford, was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle after his license was suspended.

9:04 p.m. – A fireworks complaint came in from Bedford Street.
