Police Log: Attempted Crimes Lead to Arrests
The following information from Oct. 18 to Oct. 20 was provided by the Lexington Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.
Tuesday, Oct. 18
7:45 a.m. – A loose-running dog was reportedly sitting in traffic on Marrett Road.
9:38 a.m. – Officers investigated a motor vehicle accident on Bedford Street.
10:20 a.m. – A burglary investigation on Holmes Road resulted in the arrest of Richard W. McGarry, Jr., 24, of 82 West St., Pepperell, on charges of breaking and entering in the daytime with intent to commit a felony and attempting to commit a crime.
10:48 a.m. – An employee of the CVS on Massachusetts Avenue reported a white man attempted to pass two phony prescriptions for controlled substances, including Oxycodone.
1:44 p.m. – As a result of an earlier investigation, officers checking pharmacies learned a white man successfully passed a phony prescription for Oxycodone at Theatre Pharmacy on Oct. 10.
6:01 p.m. – A woman came into the station and turn in some cash found by members of her son’s Boy Scout troop found on Worthen Road.
7:32 p.m. – CVS on Mass Ave reported a man attempted to pass a false prescription at their pharmacy and, as a result of the investigation, Patrick James Bateson, 25, of 94 Bailey Road, Andover, was charged with uttering a false prescription.
Wednesday, Oct. 19
8:22 a.m. A motor vehicle break was reported on Partridge Road.
9:48 a.m. -- Police responded to a motor vehicle accident at Bedford and Winter streets.
10:50 a.m. – A motor vehicle break was reported on Hadley Road.
2:16 p.m. – Officers responded to a reported hit-and-run accident on Waltham Street.
6:48 p.m. – A hit-and-run accident was reported on Grove Street.
10:48 p.m. – A domestic dispute between a mother and son was reported on April Lane.
Thursday, Oct. 20
8:18 a.m. – A parking complaint came in about vehicles parked on both sides of Westwood Road.
12:29 p.m. – Officers investigated a 911 hang-up call from Cranberry Hill Road.
1:24 p.m. – Police responded to a motor vehicle accident at Bedford and Manning streets.
9:14 p.m. – Larceny from a wallet on Waltham Street.
11:52 p.m. – Police responded to a reported domestic dispute on Westview Street.
