Police Log: Missing Jewelry and Kids Tossing Snowballs
The following information from Feb. 27 to March 1 was provided by the Lexington Police Department. An arrest not indicate a conviction.
Monday, Feb. 27
8:29 a.m. – Officers investigated a motor vehicle accident on Bedford Street.
8:39 a.m. – Police responded to a reported breaking-and-entering to a Normandy Road resident in which dozens of pairs of earrings and other jewelry, totaling about $5,000, were reportedly taken, along with some credit cards, between Feb. 18 and 25.
3:07 p.m. – Some hypodermic needles were found in the area of Bedford Street and Hartwell Avenue.
Tuesday, Feb. 28
12:42 a.m. – Police responded to a report of a male and female yelling in the area of one of the hotel buildings on Bedford Street, but were unable to locate the individuals.
9:14 a.m. – Police responded to a reported past breaking-and-entering on Kendall Road.
9:43 a.m. – An April Lane resident reported jewelry was missing from her home. She said a few rings and other pieces were taken sometime in the past six months, according to the police report.
2:49 p.m. – Police responded to a reported domestic dispute on Paul Revere Road.
3:31 p.m. – Police responded to a reported domestic dispute on Bedford Street.
4:17 p.m. – Officers checked out a reported fraud on Carville Avenue.
Wednesday, Feb. 29
5:40 a.m. – Police responded to a report of a suspicious motor vehicle in the area of Skyview Road and Wright Street.
8:35 a.m. – A parking complaint came in regarding a vehicle on the sidewalk along Marrett Road.
10:11 a.m. – A man came into the station to report a vehicle had been parked in the St. Brigid’s parking lot for approximately three weeks. According to the police report, the vehicle’s owner had moved from the area and his attorney will make arrangements to have the vehicle removed.
1:52 p.m. – A Lexington woman reported she believes someone took $500 from her account after she looked away for a moment while at the ATM at Stop & Shop on Bedford Street. The incident is under investigation.
2:09 p.m. – A cruiser checked in with a possible scam victim on Maple Street.
8:18 p.m. – Police checked out a report of suspicious persons on Lincoln Street and found a group of adults holding a meter around a heater.
8:48 p.m. – A call came in reporting kids throwing snowballs in the area of Sherburne and Winthrop roads.
Thursday, March 1
12:45 a.m. – An employee of Great Harvest Bread Company on Mass Ave reported a man was outside banging on the window. Turns out, the man had missed his bus and was trying to find his way home to Milton. Police brought him into the station and called him a cab.
5:07 a.m. – A DPW plowing crew called in a complaint about overnight parking at Wachusett Drive and Waltham Street.
9:24 a.m. – Officers investigated a motor vehicle accident at Waltham Street and Worthen Road.
3:58 p.m. – Officers investigated a motor vehicle accident at Mass Ave and Minute Mane Lane.
4 p.m. – A Lexington Center business owner reported he believes an employee used a customer’s credit card without authorization.
6:25 p.m. – Officers responded to a reported hit and run with property damage at Lowell Street and Peartree Drive. According to the incident report, a black truck exiting Peartree Drive reportedly struck another vehicle on Lowell Street and then left the scene. The incident is under investigation.
8:59 p.m. – Police responded to a reported domestic dispute on Bedford Street.
