Police Log: Sandy Hook Donations Stolen, Spray-Painted Profanity

Friday, Dec. 21
7:30 a.m. – Police responded to a report of a basketball hoop in the roadway in the area of Warren Street and Percy Road. It was moved out of the roadway.
1:15 p.m. – A parking complaint came in from Russell Road.
2:03 p.m. – Police responded to a reported larceny on Lincoln Street in which someone reportedly took money out of a jar collecting donations for Newtown, CT. It’s under investigation.
8:34 p.m. – A parking complaint came in about a vehicle blocking a driveway on Mass Ave.
Saturday, Dec. 22
12:18 p.m. – A cruiser checked out a report of a person hunting in the area of Turning Mill Road.
3:52 p.m. – A motor vehicle accident was reported in the area of Mass Ave and Edison Way.
5:58 p.m. – A deer was reportedly struck by a motor vehicle in the area of Lowell Street and Fulton Road.
11:21 p.m. – Police responded to the area of Blake and Eaton roads for a reported dispute between a customer and cab driver.
Sunday Dec. 23
3:32 a.m. – Police responded to a reported domestic dispute on Cider Mill Lane.
8:43 a.m. – A motorist reported seeing a man hiding in the bushes on Parker Street and then running through backyards toward Forest Street.
5:48 p.m. – Police responded to a reported attempted breaking-and-entering in progress on Bryant Road. The resident reportedly saw a man attempting to get in, and then saw him flee down Bryant Road. Police searched the area and were unable to locate the suspect.
9:35 p.m. – Police responded to a report o a past family argument on Banks Avenue.
Monday, Dec. 24
11:16 a.m. – Animal control was notified of a possibly sick fox on Hancock Street.
12:28 p.m. – A wallet was reportedly found on Waltham Street.
12:30 p.m. – Officers investigated a reported motor vehicle accident in the area of Vine Brook Road and Waltham Street.
1:22 p.m. – Police responded to a reported past larceny of a wallet, which reportedly occurred the previous Saturday at the Vine Brook Tavern but was not discovered until fraudulent charges began appearing on Monday.
2:10 p.m. – According to a police report, a Bedford man an approached an officer in Lexington Center saying he believed a bike locked up in Depot Square was his, stolen the previous day. When police approached a Lexington man walking to the bicycle, he fled on foot and was apprehended nearby on Meriam Street. Andrew C. Vesprini, 27, of 290 Bedford St., Lexington, was arrested and charged with illegal possession of a Class C substance, receiving stolen property valued at $250 or more and two default warrants out of Cambridge for defacing property and destruction of property valued at $250 or more.
5:53 p.m. – Police responded to a report of erratic operation of a motor vehicle on Mass Ave.
Tuesday Dec. 25
7:27 a.m. – Police responded to a report of vandalism to a fence on Waltham Street in which the word “scumbag” was spray-painted sometime overnight. The resident called back to report more graffiti on the wall, according to the incident report. It’s under investigation.
7:30 p.m. – Police responded to a reported domestic dispute on Leonard Road.
Wednesday, Dec. 26
12:16 a.m. – Police responded to a report of overnight parking on Locust Avenue.
5:49 a.m. – A motor vehicle accident was reported on Bedford Street.
12:02 p.m. – Officers investigated a reported two-car collision in the area of Hancock Street and Coolidge Avenue.
3:38 p.m. – Police responded to a reported domestic dispute on Skyview Road.
Thursday, Dec. 27
1:41 a.m. – Police responded to a reported domestic dispute on Jonas Stone Circle.
2:27 p.m. – A motor vehicle accident was reported in the area of Clarke and Raymond streets.
2:45 p.m. – $5 worth of copper was reportedly stolen from a job site on Mass Ave.
