Police Log: Sick Animals, BB Gun Vandals and Attempted Credit Card Fraud
The following information has been provided by the Lexington Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.
Friday, Jan. 25
12:43 p.m. – Police responded to a report of a tree crew blocking the roadway on Benjamin Road.
1:13 p.m. – A suspicious person was reported on Lincoln Street.
4:35 p.m. – A Woodcliffe Road resident reported her cell phone was missing, and possibly stolen. Police are investigating.
8 p.m. – An iPhone was reported stolen on Waltham Street.
9:28 p.m. – Woburn Police reported a resident of their town was missing from his group home, and may be intoxicated somewhere around the town line. According to the police incident report, the man showed up at his girlfriend’s mother’s house on Brookwood Road in Lexington, and she called police to report a violation of a harassment order. Richard F. Vargas, 45, of 7 South St., Woburn, was arrested on charges of violating a 258E order, breaking and entering, malicious destruction of property over $250 and resisting arrest.
Saturday, Jan .26
9:47 a.m. – GPS devices were reportedly stolen from two cars parked in a driveway on Hill Street.
11:27 a.m. – Police responded to a report of a BB shot through a window on Main Campus Drive. The BB was recovered from the scene and police are investigating.
2:10 p.m. – A Prospect Hill Road resident reported his credit card company called him to report someone called them and tried to change his account’s address to someplace in Arizona, and attempted to charge more than $900. The attempted charges did not go through and police logged the information so the credit card company could investigate.
2:24 p.m. – Officers investigated a reported motor vehicle accident in the area of Follen Road and Pleasant Street.
8:34 p.m. – Officers investigated a reported motor vehicle accident in the area of Bedford Street and Hartwell Avenue.
Sunday, Jan. 27
8:37 a.m. – Animal control was notified of a sick fox in the driveway of a Summer Street home.
1:38 p.m. – Police responded to a noise reported disturbance on Main Campus Drive in which people were yelling.
7:16 p.m. – A suspicious motor vehicle was reported in the area of Cummings Avenue.
