Semon Picks Up Endorsement from Former State Rep Susan Pope

Lexington Republican Jeff Semon, a congressional candidate in the Fifth District, announces the endorsement of Susan Pope, a former state rep from the 13th Middlesex District.

The following announcement was provided by the Jeff Semon's campaign.

5th District Congressional Candidate Jeff Semon, a Republican from Lexington, is proud to announce that former State Representative for the 13th Middlesex District, Susan Pope, has endorsed his candidacy. Semon is running to return robust economic growth to America and restore fiscal responsibility to Washington.

Pope said of Semon, “The country is in need of good, intelligent, hard-working and Constitutionally-bound candidates that will listen, understand the facts, strive to improve the shaky economy, and work for you, the constituents. It is for those reasons that I endorse Jeff Semon for Congress in Massachusetts 5th District”

Pope served the citizens of Lincoln, Sudbury and Wayland (all towns in MA-5) for five terms in the Massachusetts House.

“Susan knows that we need responsible leadership at every level of government and I am honored to receive her endorsement.” Semon said. “Susan’s experience gives her great perspective on who can legislate most effectively to get our country back on the right track.”

Pope’s endorsement further establishes Semon as the candidate best positioned to unseat Democrat Ed Markey who was elected in 1976, the year Semon was born. Semon has gained significant attention appearing on both national and local talk programs and has had numerous op-ed articles seen across the country and throughout the district.

Pope summed up her support by saying, “Jeff has done his homework on the economy, welfare, immigration and all the key issues of the day. He would be both an asset and an ally for Massachusetts voters in Washington.”
