VIDEO: Lexington Resident Gets Caninie Companion
A 9-year-old Lexington girl talks about her new best friend "Frontier" and how he will help her overcome physical challenges
Lillian, a 9-year-old from Lexington, has a new best friend ... a two-year-old Labrador retriever named "Frontier."
Lillian got Frontier from Canine Companions for Independence, a nation wide non-profit organization that trains and provides assistance dogs for persons with disabilities other then blindness.
She and nine other dog recipients just graduated a two week training course at CCI's Northeast Region Headquarters in Medford, NY, where she learned how to care for and work with her new dog. The ceremony was held on Friday, Aug. 12 in Hauppauge, NY.
Check out the video to see what Lillian had to say about her new canine companion and see her speech to the class. And, for more information about the organization, you can check out www.cci.org
