Visions for Vacancies in Lexington: 846 Mass Ave

What would you like to see in this empty space in East Lexington?

Welcome to Visions for Vacancies, a Patch feature and a place where you can weigh in with your ideas about what kind of businesses you’d like to see occupying empty storefronts around town.

Each week, we’ll highlight a vacant building, storefront or structure around town. And we’ll leave it you, the Lexington community, to sound off on what you’d like to see there before any plans go before town boards.

This week we head to East Lexington and the empty space at 846 Massachusetts Ave., smack between Good School Realty and Macaron Sweeterie.

So what would you like to see inhabit this smallish storefront between Lexington Center and the Arlington line? Is there an empty niche you'd like to see filled? Or something you think would compliment existing businesses?

If you had your way—and, for the purpose of this discussion, let’s try not to focus too much on zoning restrictions—what would be your vision for this vacancy?

Let us know what you think in the comment section below.

I think a thrift shop of some sort is an excellent idea -- a store with vintage items that aren't outrageously priced. I'm thinking of opening a shop that sells chairs for charity.

What about a pottery painting place? Our town truly misses Paint-A-Plate.

We had Winston for a while, but it did not do well here. Try the florist inside the Muzzey st building (where Blue is) because they seem to do upscale type things.....
