Welcome back, Patch Blogger!

Week in Review: Feb. 5 to Feb. 11

A look back at the week that was in Lexington.

This week began looking backward.

Patch readers awoke Monday morning to a photo gallery from a Friday afternoon ceremony in which Christopher Barry was promoted to the rank of lieutenant within the Lexington Police Department. Shortly thereafter, we asked folks to reflect on what was their favorite commercial during the disappointing Super Bowl 46

Also on Monday, we asked Patch readers to reach even further back to remember where they were during the Blizzard of ’78, which occurred 34 years ago that day

Tuesday dawned with a new business story featuring the recently opened Hair Cuttery salon in Lexington Center. Later in the day, Raising Lexington columnist Audra Myerberg weighed in with a suggestion that Valentine’s Day is an opportunity to teach kids about Love with a capital L.

Wednesday morning we posted a video from a modular home getting set on Wood Street. Later in the day, we learned Lexington resident James Wong, a VP for Bank of America’s Boston operations, was killed in a skiing accident in Vermont over the weekend.

As the week wore on, community members banded together to remember Wong, a well known youth sports coach in town, and to support his family in the wake of this sudden tragedy.

Friday afternoon, state Sen. Susan Fargo, D-Lincoln, announced she would not seek re-election this year. She has represented the 3rd Middlesex District, which includes parts of Lexington, since 1996.
