What Street in Lexington has the Biggest Speeding Problem?
There are a lot of people who have trouble obeying the speed limit, but which street in Lexington do you think has the biggest problem with speeding?
On Friday we asked you what you would ban in Lexington.
This week, we're coming back with a different question: Which street in Lexington do you think has the biggest speeding problem?
Yes, we've asked traffic-related questions in the past, about crosswalks and ignored Stop signs, but I'm not sure we've ever hit this particular topic. So here goes:
Many people have trouble obeying the speed limit, but is there one particular area of Lexington where people tend to speed most often? Is there one street in town where people often drive too fast? Tell us in the comments section below.

I'd say Bedford Street from Simonds to Westview Cemetery, or Westview to Simonds. God help those driving behind that inevitable soul trying to make a left at Margarita's Restaurant. Kudos to LPD, They frequently have a car and a radar gun nearby.

Shade Street. Cut-through traffic with no concern that it is a residential neighborhood with a 25 mph speed limit.

When I moved to Lexington a few years back, I discovered that my street was a cut through street. I went and spoke with a great guy, Dave, at Town Hall about our concerns that while leaving our driveway we could get hit by those cutting through (who of course go too fast because they are CUTTING THROUGH) due to a major curve in the road.
After he gave me some options, he told me a story:
A Lexington resident had been in his office just the other day. Same complaint as mine. People were speeding down her street and she was scared that there would be an accident. He told me he gave her the same options he gave me. She then left his office.
He told me that he, too, had a meeting to attend and left his office. On his way to his meeting, he saw the woman who had just been in his office. She was speeding down a side street. He stopped her and asked her why she was going 60 (yes!) in a 35 MPH zone.
Her answer: I'm in a rush.
S-L-O-W D-O-W-N PEOPLE!!! EVERYWHERE!!!!
