First Parish in Lexington Unitarian Universalist, 7 Harrington Rd, Lexington, MA | Get Directions »
$39.00

Let Your Yoga Dance (LYYD) evolved from DansKinetics, a form of mind-body dance which began @ Kripalu in 1978.  A LYYD class is a funky, fun, wild and sacred time that combines movement, breath, yoga, dance and music, all focused on waking up the various chakra energies in the body.  Meditation in motion.

LYYD is for every body.  Absolutely no experience with dance, yoga or meditation required.

This three-week LYYD series will meet Weds 12/5, 12/12 and 12/19 in the Parish Hall at the First Parish Lexington, 7 Harrington Rd, just off the Green. Enter through rear door and proceed up the stairs to Parish Hall.  Each class runs 75 minutes, 10:30 am - 11:45 am.  Wear comfortable clothing, in layers if you wish to add or remove something as we warm up and then cool down.  Bring a water bottle and a yoga mat if you would like to use your own.

The history of First Parish in Lexington extends back to the late 17th century, when residents of Lexington, then called Cambridge Farms, repeatedly sent petitions to the Massachusetts Legislature asking to establish their own parish. The state finally acquiesced to their petition in 1691 and five years later, the church was finally established - Calvinist in doctrine, congregational in polity. In 1829, the parish voted to become Unitarian.

Today, the church is a self-governing, liberal congregation that works with a professional staff, offering religious education, events and activities.
