Lexington Community Education presents: Lunatic Heroes: A Celebration of the New Book by Anthony Martignetti
Lexington Depot, 13 Depot Sq, Lexington, MA | Get Directions »
$5.00
Dark, comic, raw, disturbing, and often redemptive, these tales take us from the 1950s to the present, along with a repeating cast of heroes and lunatics. These characters span the breadth and the depths of human qualities and capacities. The same person, in one story, may materialize as a hero and a god, and in another, as a lunatic and a demon. While the author roughs up the people in his stories with the hand of terror, he simultaneously views them with the eyes of love. Martignetti spares no one, and to his credit, particularly not himself. For one who confesses so much fear, he is fearlessly self-revealing. After reading this collection, you will come to know these characters, and the author, intimately. Not that you’d necessarily want to, it’s just the way things will turn out.
C. Anthony Martignetti, Ph.D. is a psychotherapist and writer living in Lexington. He founded the Biscuit Box Theater Company, and the writers’ group, Souled Out Artists, who have been performing shows locally over the past seven years. Though he has regaled the community with public readings of his memoirs for years, his forthcoming and highly anticipated collection of short stories, Lunatic Heroes: Memories, Lies and Reflections, is his first creative venture into the publishing world, outside of articles in professional journals, and a chapter in the book, Unlocking the Emotional Brain (Sept., 2012).
Pre-registration is highly recommended. Please call Lexington Community Education to register using a MasterCard or VISA at 781 862 8043.

More About Lexington Depot
The Lexington Depot was built in 1847 and was recently renovated. It is operated by the Lexington Historical Society. It used to be the train station for the line that ran to and from Boston. The path of the line itself is now the Minuteman Bikeway. The Depot is not open to the public, but can be rented for private functions of up to 100 people. Contact the society for more information. There is also a town-operated parking lot located behind the building, which can be used for event parking.
