Tuneful Trio at Temple Isaiah on December 1

Good things come in threes and three supremely talented musicians play at Temple Isaiah on Saturday, December 1 at 8:00 p.m., presented by the Temple Brotherhood.

Mark Erelli, whose songwriting and string playing have taken him from recording studios to stadiums to Royal Albert Hall, teams up with Jake and Taylor Armerding for a night of original songs, unexpected cover tunes and unorthodox bluegrass.

Erelli, is as renowned for incisive interpretations of songs from many genres as he is for his finely crafted songwriting. His prowess as a multi-instrumentalist makes him a sought-after sideman for Lori McKenna, Josh Ritter and others. http://markerelli.com/

Acclaimed by the Boston Globe as "the most gifted and promising songwriter to emerge from the Boston folk scene in years" has released six albums and has launched his Community Supported Art to distribute what he calls his  “organic music” online.  http://www.jakearmerding.com/shows.php

Taylor Armerding was a founding member, and lead singer for the progressive bluegrass band Northern Lights for decades. He now tours with the Bluegrass Gospel Project and his lightning mandolin and high lonesome vocals pop up onstage with other artists, too. http://www.bluegrassgospelproject.com/

All three are members of the spring-loaded neo-bluegrass band Barnstar! A grant from Club Passim  helped to fund their first album, "C'mon!"

“Music brings people together on a level that is utterly unique,” says Marty Rogers who is spearheading this folk coffeehouse event for the Temple Brotherhood, “This is a very personal way to build community.”

Temple Isaiah is at 55 Lincoln Street Lexington, Mass, 781 862-7160. Ample free parking, wheelchair accessible. Doors open 7:30, concert begins at 8:00.  Refreshments available for purchase during the break. Tickets are $20.
