Our Stories: Exploring the Immigrant Experience
Cary Memorial Library, 1874 Massachusetts Ave, Lexington, MA | Get Directions »

Statistics do not tell the story of immigration. People do. Since its inception, our country has been continually infused with the energy of newcomers. Their assimilation has seldom been easy, but their quest has made our country and our community richer.
Cary Memorial Library invites you to join us as representatives of the immigrant community in Lexington share their family stories. Special guest speakers will be Yefim Somin (Soviet Union), Mitra Shavarini (Iran), and Weidong Wang (China).
Each of our special guests has much to tell us about the immigrant experience. They will share their stories and discuss such questions as: How can we help new arrivals feel welcome in our community?
