The Rising Star Quilt Guild will host its 25th annual quilt show and sale on Saturday, October 13, 2012 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, October 14, 2012 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Cary Memorial Building, 1605 Massachusetts Avenue, Lexington. Nearly 150 traditional, contemporary and challenge quilts will be featured. This year the raffle quilt is a 2-sided quilt called Double the Fun. The theme for the challenge quilts is A Splash of Silver. In addition there will be a boutique selling hand-crafted items made by members, a daily mini-quilt and basket raffle and a bake table located on the building’s main floor. Many vendors will offer their wares. Demonstrations and scavenger hunts are planned. Admission is $5; children 12 years old and under are free. The building is handicap accessible. More About Cary Memorial Building
Named for Isaac Harris Cary, the Cary Memorial Building is located in Lexington Center between the town office building and the police station. The building is available for use by historic, educational, cultural or charitable groups and organizations. Within the building is Cary Hall, including a stage and auditorium with 780 seats and Estabrook Hall, with a small recital state and large lobby. Meeting rooms can be reserved by calling the number provided.
