DESCRIPTION:On Tuesday evening\, February 5 at 7:00 p.m. Cary Memorial Li
 brary will host the third in its series of Science Caf&eacute\; programs
 . &nbsp\;Science Caf&eacute\; events bring local scientists face-to-face
  with the general public\, for a lively and interactive scientific discu
 ssion\, which takes place in a casual setting. &nbsp\;These caf&eacute\;
 s offer access to cutting-edge discoveries and the scientists who make t
 hem\, in a fun format which focuses on questions/answers and audience pa
 rticipation. To add to the informal atmosphere\, beverages and snacks wi
 ll be provided by the Library.\nCary Library is very excited to have Dr.
  Vladimir Bulovic as the special guest scientist. Dr. Bulović is a prof
 essor of electrical engineering at MIT\, leading the Organic and Nanostr
 uctured Electronics Laboratory\, and directing the Microsystems Technolo
 gy Laboratories. He is the author of over 140 research articles and the 
 inventor of over 50 U.S. patents in the areas of light emitting diodes\,
  lasers\, photovoltaics\, photodetectors and chemical sensors. &nbsp\;\n
 This installment of Science Cafe will focus on technologies now being de
 veloped which will provide transformational energy-efficient solutions f
 or the future. In his lab\, Dr. Bulovic and his colleagues are discoveri
 ng and designing&nbsp\;uses for nano-materials that will help create the
  next generations of solar cells\, light bulbs and displays. Soon you ma
 y be watching paper-thin televisions powered by the sun\, using his disc
