  from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. In 2007/8 she was the Ray D. W
 olfe post-doctoral fellow in Jewish Studies at the University of Toronto
  and has served as a visiting assistant professor at Miami University\, 
 in Ohio. She teaches in Jerusalem\, and lectures widely in North America
  and England. In the fall of 2009\, her first book\, The Return of the R
 epressed: Pirqe de-Rabbi Eliezer and the Pseudepigrapha\, was published 
 by Brill. She is currently working on her second academic book\, The Fem
 ale Ruse: Women&rsquo\;s Deception and Divine Sanction in the Hebrew Bib
 le\, as a research associate in the Women&rsquo\;s Studies in Religion P
 rogram at Harvard Divinity School. She also teaches Hebrew Bible at Hebr
 ew College.\nProfessor Adelman has a magical way of making the Hebrew Bi
