An Author Event and a School Committee Retreat

We've got five things you need to see, do and know on Aug. 15 in Concord.

1. Author Event at The Elephant's Trunk: From 2 to 4 p.m. this afternoon, Annette LeBlanc Cate, author of "Look Up" and 'The Magic Bunny" will drop by the Elephant's Trunk Children's Bookshop to sign and discuss her books. 

2. Today in Public Meetings: According to the town website, public meetings posted for today include the Economic Development Advisory Committee at 8 a.m. at Cary Hall and a School Committee retreat at 9 a.m. at the Hilton Garden Hotel in Burlington.

5. Sunny Day, Clear Night: Should be a mostly sunny day with a high near 78, according to the National Weather Service, which predicts a clear evening with a low in the 50s.
