Banjo Music at the Farmers Market, Meetings and More

We've got five things you need to know on Aug. 13 in Lexington.

1. Banjo Duet at the Farmers MarketThe Lexington Farmers Market returns to the corner of Mass Ave and Woburn Street at 2 p.m. today. And, as if the fresh produce, meats and crafts weren't attraction enough, there's more: The Banj'r Banjo Duet, featuring Dan Borchelt and Ed Britt, will perform. Get the details here

2. Today in Public MeetingsAccording to the town website, public meetings posted for today include the School Committee at 5 p.m. at the School Administration Building and the 2020 Vision Committee's subcommittee on demographic change at 7:30 p.m. at Cary Hall. 

3. ICYMI: In case you missed it yesterday, we shared the story of Hair Cuttery's Share-a-Haircut program that donates a free haircut to a disadvantaged child in the community every time a back-to-school haircut is purchased for a child aged 18 and younger at the Lexington salon. 4. Bicentennial Band ConcertThe Lexington Bicentennial Band is scheduled to continue its summer concert series at 7:15 p.m. tonight at Hastings Park. 

5. Showers, Maybe: There's a chance of showers and thunderstorms today, with a high of 79, according to the National Weather Service, which predicts more possible rain overnight and a low of 57.
