Cooking Lessons for Children, Story Times at the Library

Five things to know today.

Today is Thursday, September 26. Here are five things to know: 

1) Sunny skies 

Looks like another nice day. According to the National Weather Service we can expect sunny skies with a high near 68 degrees. Partly cloudy tonight with a low around 48. 

2) Public meetings 

The Housing Partnership Board is meeting at 7:30 p.m. in the Cary Memorial Building, Ellen Stone Room. The Board of Appeals is meeting at 7:30 p.m. in the Town Office Building, Selectmen Meeting Room. Click here for a complete list of today's meetings and agendas

3) Kids Cooking Green

The Community Nursery School is holding an 8-week cooking course for children in grades 2-5. The classes start at 12:50 a.m. and the course will cover knife skills, t kitchen safety, local, seasonal and nutritious food. They will also have fun while cooking. Click here for more information.

4) Lap time 

The Cary Memorial Library is holding a Lap Time event for children zero to 15 months at 9:30 a.m. Join them for a 20 minute, low-key, interactive program, featuring songs, finger plays, nursery rhymes, and simple stories for babies and their caregivers.

5) Story times 

The Cary Memorial Library is also holding two story times for children today. The first is at 10:30 a.m. for children 16 to 24 months. The second is at 11:15 a.m. for children 25 to 30 months old. "You and your toddler will enjoy stories, songs, rhymes, and movement."
