Local Artists Holding Benefit Concert at Lexington Restaurant

Musicians will sing and play to benefit Boston Natural Areas Network

Local musicians will be performing to help benefit for a group that works to preserve, expand and improve urban open space through community organizing, acquisition, ownership, programming, development and management of special kinds of urban land. 

The show will be at Nourish Restaurant in Lexington Center at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. 

Guitarist and singer Jake Kensinger will be featured with his long-standing Two for the Show duo partner, Ellen Schmidt, who hosts the regular open mic nights at Nourish. Also joining is harmonica player, Hatrack Gallagher. Rising folk scene star Jane Fallon and rough-and-tumble dobro playing Boston blues singer Lloyd Thayer, plus singer Carolyn Waters will guest in Kensinger’s set. 

Open mic performers will round out the night beginning at 6:30 p.m. Musicians and spoken word artists are welcome to sign up with for a slot Ellen Schmidt by phone at 978-369-8090 or email eschmidt01742@gmail.com by noon the day of the show or put in for a time slot by 6:15 p.m. at Nourish. Admission is free. 

BNAN works to preserve, expand and improve urban open space through community organizing, acquisition, ownership, programming, development and management of special kinds of urban land - Urban Wilds, Greenways and Community Gardens. Kensington and Schmidt have been longtime supporters and have performed numerous Two for the Show concert to benefit BNAN.
