Science Talk with Inventor and Entrepreneur

Special guest Dr. Noubar Afeyan, founder, Managing Partner and CEO of Flagship Ventures will be speaking at Cary Memorial Library.

The Cary Memorial Library is holding an Innovation Cafe, the latest installment in the library's Science Cafe series.  

Special guest Dr. Noubar Afeyan, founder, Managing Partner and CEO of Flagship Ventures will be speaking at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 7. 

During his 23 year-long career as an inventor, entrepreneur and CEO, Afeyan has co-founded and helped build over twenty life science, technology and energy companies. Afeyan will discuss his experiences with entrepreneurial innovations that unlock significant commercial opportunities in health and sustainability.

Registration for this program is required.  You can sign up now by calling the library at 781-862-6288 ext 250 or by stopping by the Reference Desk. Science Café events at the library are free, and open to all ages- from teenagers to retirees.  No science background is required. All you need is an interest in science and a willingness to join in the conversation.

This special program is inspired by NOVA's “Making Stuff" series.  Watch "Making Stuff" on PBS this fall and then join us for Innovation Cafe at the library.
