Lexington's David Pinsonneault Named Sports Turf Managers Association 2014 President

Sports Turf Managers Association Names David Pinsonneault 2014 President

 

(LAWRENCE, Kan.)Sports Turf Managers Association (STMA) – the professional organization for 2,600 men and women who manage sports fields worldwide – recently named David Pinsonneault, Certified Sports Field Manager (CSFM) and Certified Parks and Recreation Professional (CPRP), as its newly-elected President.

Pinsonneault was officially installed at the STMA Conference & Exhibition in San Antonio (Jan. 14-17). STMA conducts its annual elections electronically in late November and officers serve one-year terms.

“STMA has been an incredible educational and networking resource,” says Pinsonneault. “It’s an honor to be elected STMA President and I look forward to leading our 2,600 members to new heights in 2014.”

 

Since 2000, he has served as the Public Grounds Superintendent for the Town of Lexington (Mass.) and oversees 22 full-time employees as well as 600 acres of land, 75 acres of athletic fields, four cemeteries, more than 3,000 streetlights and 10,000 trees.

 

Pinsonneault received a Bachelor of Science in Forestry from the University of New Hampshire and second degree from the Park Maintenance and Management School from North Carolina State University. He is a past President of the New England Sports Turf Managers Association and has worked on its Board of Directors for more than 10 years.
