Petition to Name New Estabrook Gymnasium after Mr. Jim Banks

To the Members of the Naming Committee:

Mr. Jim Banks dedicated thirty-seven years to the physical education program at Joseph Estabrook Elementary School. A beloved teacher whose commitment and enthusiasm endeared him to all, Mr. Banks served as an exceptional role model to the thousands of students who graced the school gym for over three decades.

Whether it was through his masterfully designed obstacles courses, choreographed dances, or the occasional thrilling game of crack-a-bout, Mr. Banks had an incredible ability to make physical education fun and exciting for Estabrook Elementary students.

It therefore seems only fitting that the members of the Naming Committee name the new school gymnasium after this legendary teacher. As members of the community who were either lucky enough to be taught by Mr. Banks, or to have our children be taught by him, we would be thrilled to have the Naming Committee recognize our appreciation of this extraordinary teacher.
