USAF Heritage of America Concert in Lexington-Friday, 4/25/14, 7:30 pm-FREE!!

The Lexington Town Celebrations Committee is pleased to sponsor a concert given by the United States Air Force Heritage of America Concert Band from Joint Base Langley-Eustis in Hampton, Virginia on Friday, April 25, 2014 at 7:30 pm in Battin Hall in the Cary Memorial Building, 1605 Massachusetts Avenue, Lexington. The Heritage of America Concert Band features the diverse talents of 38 professional musicians whose commitment to excellence has earned worldwide acclaim and military distinction.  Featuring a full rhythm section in addition to a wind ensemble, the Concert Band’s versatility entertains audiences with a variety of musical selections from Broadway to symphonic classical favorites, from jazz to patriotic music.

Activated in 1941, The United States Air Force Heritage of America Band has a rich history of inspiring public patriotism and enhancing esprit de corps among all the US military service branches.  These world class musicians are stationed at Joint Base Langley-Eustis in Hampton, Virginia.   They travel throughout the Mid-Atlantic region, presenting over 300 events annually for the general public and in support of Airman morale and protocol events.  The USAF Heritage of America Band remains at the forefront of communicating Air Force core values and preserving and enriching America’s military and musical heritage into the 21st century.
